There are three judging positions up for grabs, so I say go for it, said Ian Parmenter.

Founded in 1997, this is the only competition of its kind, aiming to recognise, develop and promote professional cookery by attracting teams from all over Australia. Held as a major part of Tasting Australia the event offers chefs and apprentices a chance to compete against each other under the watchful eyes of some of our greatest chefs, restaurateurs and wine experts, who make up our panel of judges

The 2010 awards will be judged by an esteemed panel of judges including Ben O'Donoghue; David Sly; Heidi Van Gerwen; John Lethlean; Kate Lamont; Pete Evans; Rob Broadfield; Simon Bryant; Louise Radman; Mark McNamara; Matthew Evans; Don Hancey; Tony Tan; Chris Jarmer, Philippe Clergue and Frank Camorra.

This is your opportunity to join Australias culinary icons and become their peer on an exclusive judging panel that culminates in an award dinner where everyones hard work is celebrated. Teams are battling it out for Gold, Silver and Bronze prizes, as well as the overall honour of Best Apprentice.

Channel 7s, Today Tonight will follow the journey of the three consumer judges chosen throughout the judging process of the competition.

2010 will see the competition taking a new direction with 15 teams from around Australia battling it out to create three-course meals using regional protein items, produce from IGA Norwood, general kitchen food items provided by Regency International Centre and a selection of mystery ingredients that will be revealed to the competitors shortly before the competition starts.
