PAULINE D LOH

Pauline D Loh

Pauline Dawn Loh is a hard news journalist turned culinary consultant, food writer and cookbook author. She produced innumerable cooking and dining columns for Singapore's national business tabloid daily, Today when she was its deputy chief editor. Her rich collection of home-cooked recipes then found its way into her best-selling cookbook, “Love, Food”. Recipes here reflect the cooking style adopted by many Singapore families - a mixture of east, west and impromptu creations combining the best of both.

Pauline then collaborated with her father, much-respected Chinese veteran journalist/food writer HK Loh, on the bilingual cookbook, “Dad & Co.: Recipes from the family kitchen”.

This book documents the rich culinary heritage of their native Shunde in Guangzhou province - a land of milk and honey in China that literally boasts the best mountain pleasures and marine treasures, all of which end up in the Cantonese cooking pot.

After nearly 30 years working newsrooms in Asia, Pauline continues to explore the two subjects closest to her heart - food and travel.  She now writes regularly on food, hosts a Chinese language radio food show and appears on regional TV channel as its culinary consultant. Pauline is effectively bilingual and has a special interest in the major cuisines of China, as well as traditional Chinese medicine and its wealth of natural tonics.

She is also editorial consultant to one of Asia's largest current affairs magazines where her byline appears under more sober issues related to business and geopolitics in Greater China.
