Over twenty years ago Peter Hathaway entered the world of food, wine, beer and hospitality in the most classical of circumstances - as an out of work actor.

After a decade of restaurant management coupled with booking live entertainment into Sydney venues, Peter felt his unforgiving lifestyle and the onset of venue-killing poker machines would be the death of him and made his escape, only to collapse into an infatuation with wine.
What followed were years of writing wine notes, wine and food matches, wine ads, catalogues and features for not one, but two of Australia's largest wine distributors. Just as he was about to run out of food match suggestions for Barossa Valley Shiraz, Peter was offered the chance to become Editor of Australian Wine Selector magazine.

Nearly two years and a masthead change later, Selector magazine is Australia's highest circulating Life Food Wine publication.
