ANGELA LLOYDArrived in South Africa from the UK 37 years ago knowing little about wine. After initial involvement on an amateur basis, she has been involved professionally in the wine industry, freelancing both as a writer and a judge, for the past 24 years. Literary credits include co-authoring The South African Wine Cellar Book, contributing the South African sections to Dorling Kindersley's Wines of the World, Oz Clarke's Pocket Wine Guide and Atlas and, with the 2008 edition she celebrates 22 vintages as a taster and writer for the John Platter Wine Guide; these among many other commissions. She is currently Associate Editor of the Grape website http://www.grape.co.za/. Other wine-related pursuits have included judging in South Africa, Australia and Italy, lecturing for the Cape Wine Academy, broadcasting on South African radio and even making wine. When her nose isn't deep in a glass of wine, Angela enjoys travel, gardening, cooking, music, theatre, cinema, reading, art, walking and labradors. |
